  • early

This was a present made for the wedding of two very lovely people, Chris and Rachelle.  They got married this week and what a lovely ceremony it was!  I gave the paintings "early" on during the bridal party.  Chris and Rachelle embrace their geeky-ness (he wore storm trooper cuff-links at the wedding) and I wanted to reflect that in the artwork as well.  They were done with acrylic. . .my favorite paint medium :)

    Updates:
--I got a few sign-ups for my cartoon workshop so I will definitely be teaching it end of July!  I'm very excited to see what ideas the students come up with.
--My 24 hour trip to LA went very well and it looks like I'll be giving the presentation a few more times in the near future.  I'm working on edits this week and putting my Photoshop skills to use for a few of the slides.
--I'll be submitting 3 art pieces for the San Mateo County Fair. They'll just be nicely framed versions of my WonderCon prints hehe

  • Hi Charolette, how are you? Are you going to the reunion?? I've been subscribing and peeping your blog for a while now.

Just had a random idea hit my head. Do you have an iPad? I think it would be cool to see a sped-up video of you drawing using some of the popular sketch apps. Kind of like what Jorge Colombo did: http://www.newyorker.com/online/blogs/tny/2009/05/jorge-colombo-iphone-cover.html

    Take care!

  • Great to hear from you Phil!  I'm probably not going to the reunion with my schedule and all but if you're ever in the bay area, we can meet up some time.  I don't have an iPad (my reluctance towards new technology is kicking in again) but have seen the sped-up videos before.  If you know an easy way to do it without the iPad (maybe through Photoshop) I wouldn't mind trying it out :)
